I went on a walk along a river in Wales. It was such a beautiful day, I wanted to capture how calm I felt in the nature. This video combines the footage I recorded with my digital process using Touch Designer and Premier Pro.
During making this video I was feeling the pressure of a deadline. This led me to making a video with the intention of creating freely. The video aims to open a space for release from everyday pressures and embracing the unknown. While 'unknown' feelings can be scary, they are also exciting. Life isn’t always cheerful, but within its ups and downs, we must discover moments of joy.
This video visually explores my research on the relationship between nature and technology. I wish to communicate the idea that our understanding of what is “natural” is inevitably shaped by cultural processes. Often, arguments advocating for certain actions as “natural” or discouraging others as “unnatural” stem from diverse cultural perspectives, intending to guide individuals in accordance with societal norms. It’s important to recognise that anything feasible aligns with the inherent laws of nature, irrespective of its moral value.
When I heard the intro to this song I couldn't not make visual to go with it. Made me reflect on how overstimulated I was feeling living in London during the winter. I'd love to make more visuals like this to be used for live performance.
